On February 1 2013, I start a 3,500 mile trek around the coast of Ireland, the republic and the north. I will be raising money for ‘tusk’, a charity which protects wildlife, supports communities and promotes education in Africa. (www.tusk.com)

As I write, the poaching of elephants and rhinos for tusk and horn has reached epidemic proportions. Unless we can reverse this catastrophic trend, experts estimate wild elephants and rhinos will be exterminated within a decade.
